Hello i am new here. So my grandad owns landrover freelander1 and it is just a nightmare i should have been there when he bought it but hi just went and bought it..
Problem with the doors. More or less non stop clicking trying to always lock all doors even when they are locked. I swapped the front drivers side door actuator it fixed the remote function but not the clicking. Once you touch any of the pedals or move the car it lets all hell loose.. It seems to me like a wiring problem but with these cars who knows... Checked all the fuses all good. Any quick way to find out what is wrong with it or what would be the proper procedure? I would like to fix it for him because hi is disabled and it gets on your nerves that clicking from hell.. Any help appreciated

What exactly is happening? When do the door locks click? Can what is happening be recorded and put on YouTube?
Was this fault there when the vehicle was purchased?

Basically all doors keep locking, just keeps clicking and as soon as i open and close the door all of them lock again or if i sit in the car and touch slightly brake or clutch pedal it locks all doors and kepps on doing it even when i am driving. Yes i can put it up on YouTube if that helps.

I suspect it's a wiring fault. The door locking is controlled by the Central Control Unit (CCU for short), which is located to the right of the accelerator pedal, directly mounted to the rear of the fuse box. It could be that a wire has been incorrectly routed in some previous work, so the insulation has got damaged around the pedal box area, causing this issue.

Lock. I will try to find wiring diagram. It even tries to lock when i lift the the car.. it starts to look more like wires somewhere shorting but causing to lock it would that make sense to you? Is there a sensor in the lock?

Thx for that just downloaded it. I will need Facelift but i assume it will be the same just visual improvements.Wish me luck..

Took off doors cards nothings obvious tried to move the wires around nothing... Only thing i noticed. Rear windows only work with front master switch rear switches work but no communication seems like the wires are just disconnected. Could it be ccu not sure how many things it controls i know my audi has a module that controls interior things and doors could it be similar? If it is under seats it might have a water damage? just guessing here...

soldered permanent (LOCK) connection on the lock unlock switch on drivers side door stopped all the nonsense for some reason and the key fob is still working... would not call this the best fix but the way this forum lives i dont think somebody new stands a chance to fix anything on these so called hippo cars
