Like the title says, opens fine from the outside, very hit or miss from the inside. Am I right in thinking that the wee spring kits on ebay will sort this out?
Door won't open from inside.......

depends on your model...
200 or 300 - yes.
Series 2 - no.
Disco 3 or 4... - god knows!

if it opens from the outside it can't be the springs. You might need to look inside the door, there could be a loose rod or connection. If the spring has gone (i had to do all mine!), you will see the button drops slightly, if you pull the button up it should open, but this would be the case when opening from the outside.

mine was doing this, just took the door panel off cleaned the half ton of crap out of the mechanism and sprayed shed loads of wd40 in it, works a treat.

Thanks for the helpful replies. It's a 300, going to get the springs & strip it out & give it a good clean etc.

Try just giving it a clean before you go buying things you might not need.

Yeh check everything before doing the springs, it's a right rave. If you an open it from the outside i doubt it will be the spring!!
