After a bit of help, again, had a mooch around to see if I could find any previous posts on how to remove the glass and runners from a mouldy old door top but can't find them anywhere. Has anybody got an idiot's guide on stripping door tops. Also, had a look at a few listings for door tops on fleaBay and lots of people claim most of the tops don't fit properly but trust them theirs do. So any advice on what brand to buy would also be appreciated.

Or, should I just bin the lot and buy new runners, glass, etc., or a complete top.

Cheers in advance.

The velour lined runners are held in with self tapping countersunk screws. Scrape along the bottom of the runner with a screwdriver until you feel them - you'll probably have to drill them out. The other bits that hold the glass in are ally and should be OK. With luck the door top will be recoverable but if not they're not too expensive. Refit the new runners with black gooey tacky stuff (non setting windscreen sealer is good) making sure you drill the drainage hole out. The parts book has a good exploded diagram.
