Hi All,

I have a problem with replacing my door speakers (bass). I have a 2002 4.6 VOGUE SE with the HK system.
Both bass drivers are blowing on the front doors so i acquired what i thought would be the correct replacements - E26640 AMR6357. However, having removed the door panels & removing the drivers they appear to be standard land rover drivers with part numbers E26640 6RG427.
Anyway, the new HK drivers fit perfectly but there is just a faint rumbling sound sound coming from them - worse than my old blown ones. Should the HK drivers be compatible?
Would really appreciate any advice from anyone in the know.

Cheers

Martyn

Speakers can not rumble themselves, sounds like your amp is faulty and will damage your new ones, best get it checked.

I should clarify, when i connected the HK speakers & turned the stereo on, this is when i get just a distorted rumbling sound. I'm presuming the amp outstation is ok as all other speakers in the door are working ok. It seems at the moment they only work with the originals which sounds odd, but then again the more i get to know the Rangie the less this surprises me.

Could it be the outstation (& speakers) aren't original? Would the HK have a different impedence or similar and this is what has stuffed things up? I seem to remember the old Bose systems were somewhat odd.
