right guys, i've a 300tdi 1997 D90, with crap standard push button locks. I jus managed to open them with a coin and its got me worried!wat is the best security door locks that could be fitted to all three doors?i plan to keep alot of sport stuff eventually in the back and want to make it as secure as i can. so ideas welcome.cheers in advance,

TEDDY

Couple of rottweilers should sort your problem, leave them in there loads of food and water, the robbing B@@@@@s should leave your motor alone,on the serious side couple of grills for your back windows and a good alarm system, works a treat on mine..:)

In short, nothing

If they want it, they'll have it. Best thing you can do is not leave anything at all inside.

I can get in mine, start it and drive off with no keys at all.

You could get one of the locks that go across the pedals and a disk lock for the steering wheel & could also have an alarm fitted.

At the end of the day, all these devices are only intended to slow a would-be thief.

Sorry for the doom & gloom but thats just the reality of it.

I also saw advertised in last months LRO (Craddocks I think) advertised a 15" leather 3 spoke steering wheel with F1 style quick release boss for £40 odd including all necessary to fit to your Defender. Thinking about getting one meself.

i had a look and they look pretty nice and heavy duty. I guess th problem is findin th fine line between doin all ya can for security....and makin it look like u got somethin worth half inchin inside! if you do go on n fix em to urs, let us know how easy/hard they were to fit, and wat ya think of em.
