hi

Just had my defender back from the bodyshop and stunned with the paint job spent most of the day putting lights etc on, today I've fitted the door seals and now the doors won't shut, there aligned as far as I can tell and they shut perfect without the seals has anyone else ever had the issue?

Original seals but they were new about 18 months ago, the door just rebounds off them and won't shut, worse thing is it took the bodyshop ages to align the doors they said

It's very easy to get a smooth fitting door without the seals!
I wonder if the hinges had packing pieces in originally and they haven't been replaced after the respray?

Hi

Been through this and only just getting them right but a good help is johnsons baby talc, cover the seals in this and it softens them so they bed in again. I like you got all the doors aligned, closing really nice then fitted new seals and none of it worked properly, bouncing doors, slamming and not fitting right

Spoke with my dad who worked for hollingdrakes years back dealing with all the posh cars and they did this talc trick. I have used it and slowly adjusted the doors back to a perfect fit and close nice again. It's a pity they don't just go on and work but that wouldn't be a Landy would it

That was a different member :D
I'm having a bad day, not reading post properly.
I've been out washing the cars. Spend ages on the Landy. Tad cold out there so my heads a bit 'wooly', now I've come indoors. Either that, or its my age!
Age probably :D :(
(Cheers bluedog333 - I need somebody keeping an eye on me )

Balls to going outside today, p*ssing it down all day. My heads a bit fuzzy too, but that might be down to the four Scrumpy Jacks and bottle of red last night, seemed like a good idea at the time.

That sounds tasty!
Hmmm, I had 3 cans of Guinness, bottle of red and some sloe gin as a night cap. Forgot about that, so that may have affected my head anorl. If you forget about what you've drank the night before, does that mean your an alcoholic? :D
EDIT
Gorgeous day hear. Dry and sunny. But, cold.
