I have a 2004 Disco and I noticed last night that the interior lights are not coming on when I open a door. All lights work if manually turned on so I know they work, and it's not just one door - any open door will not turn on the lights.

Any ideas????

Many thanks.

Tom

Each light has a single +12 volt power feed to it and the switching is done by a ground signal provided either by the switch on the light housing or by a ground sent from the BCU. So that rules out a fuse in the circuit.
All four doors signal the BCU when they're open or closed so that the intruder alarm is also "aware".
Once a door is opened, the BCU receives the signal and then sends the ground to the interior lights.
Check the plugs and sockets at the BCU, unfortunately it isn't easy to get to, it's behind the passenger's glove box.
But before you go checking the BCU, get yourself over to the "Introduce Yourself" section of the forum and err ... umm ... introduce yourself before somebody comes along and starts getting a bit sniffy about it.

+1 for that^^^, also be aware that if they once faded with a door open and the ignition was not on after that they won't work again untill ignition is turned on... if this ignition thing is ruled out the most common place for bad contact due corrosion is C0484/0102, check the purple/blue wire at pin 16

Thanks guys. I took my sunroof motor out this morning to clear it out as it had stopped working and all of a sudden the lights are working when the door is open! Maybe there was a loose wire and once the front light was plugged back in it solved it - no idea, but at least it's working.

Thanks again - and if it happens again I'll know what to do.
