Right need some quick suggestions to resolve this problem. Garage have my car and I've only got 1 key and they've managed to lock it inside the car so I need to find an easy way of opening the door without potentially causeing damage the the ole girl. This car seems to be jinxed with regards me getting it back on the road ! Grrrrrr:violent:

I'd say it's their problem and they should sort it.

Most likely way, probably, to stop it getting 'broken' somehow, is to get a knowledgable locksmith in .. which the garage should pay for.

well i have said this to them that any cost / damage is their responsability but just thought i'd quickly sound people out on here for any info. Only in garage because i not got 100% confidence to do work on my own i need to find someone in cornwall whos willing to give abit of hands on guidance / advice then garages will be thing of the past hopefully

re good luck with this one .. if its locked with key/remote then its locked from memory you is going to have to break a window but the door still wont open from in side .. so i guess break one where you can reach the keys .its a mess and a carry on.. the garage have done this so they should unfix it .. or try one of the break down companys who will air bag the door a bit and try reach the keys .good luck

That is only true if you Super Lock the vehicle. By default on only locks the doors and turns on the standard alarm. When you Super Lock (click the fob twice), it locks the doors from being opened on the inside, turns on the volumetric alarm and standard alarm.

If the dicks locked the keys inside the vehicle, my money is on standard alarm only, so you can still open the doors from the inside.

Cheers bix I've left them to it and any damage and costs they gonna cover. And once they got key out I'm taking car away. Then gonna attempt the work myself and hope for best.

Tell them you dont want ANY damage and if they speak to randrover thell be able to get a key made up. Thatll teach them to open the drivers window before leaving keys in! lol

Have a look at "Aside: Optional Step -- Attempting to Release Latch Without Destroying it." on

http://www.rangerovers.net/repairdetails/doors/doorlocks.html

I had to do this recently but could open the window so could see what I was doing. It took very little pressure on the nylon cam thing.

I suspect that it could be done with a shaped bicycle spoke but I hope not, because it would destroy the reputation of the P38 being a safe with wheels when locked.

The reason for asking whether you had access to another RR was that your measuring would have to be very precise.

Havnt i read on thid forum somewhere that the tail gate wires can be accessed somewhere and the tailgate can be opened by shorting 2 wires?
