Hello all,

I am seeking advice on the following problem.
The drivers side inner door handle on my Freelander1 has completely come away from the body at the top fastening. Is this an easy repair and where would be a good place to buy a replacement?
Thanks in advance.
Clive

It's easy to replace, but some (year dependent) are riveted to the door frame. You should be able to find one on Ebay.

Thanks. It’s a 54 plate.

It's riveted on, like this.

Ah the door handle capping.
Those are expensive new, but always damaged second hand.

They are available on Ebay occasionally and easy to fit, as they just clip on or pull off.

I've got a couple of spares myself, which I think cost about £10 each second hand.

Ah I see. Looks like the handle has come adrift from the door panel. It's clipped with a twist ring thing. I'm sure that your going to need the whole door card assembly, unless you can fix what you have there. The twist clip isn't available I don't think. The best thing is to get the door card off, so you can see how what's damaged. Then you can decide if it's fixable, or you need a replacement door card.
There's the twist clip viewed from the back. I might have one of those, although I've know idea where.

Thanks for your help. I’ll do some investigating.
