Door clunks/clicks

My drivers door makes a load clicking noise when opening/closing. It seems the small bracket that sticks out from the door pillar and holds the check link now springs sideways and makes the noise. I cannot see how to get at this bracket to discover what is wrong, any help would be appreciated.

My door did a similar thing, took the door card off to have a look at the internals, only to then see that the screws holding the bracket to the pillar were lose (torx heads I think they were), just tightened them and all was fine.

Oh, and after 97,000 the doors still aint fallin off!

Yup dead easy to fix.
Look where the bar goes into the door. One bolt above, one bolt below, tighten them up, mine were 8mm bolts.
Job done.

Not so easy. It's the bracket on the door PILLAR not the bar that is at fault.
