Don't be rude to Noobs

Ladies and gentlemen,

Of late we have had some very curt and sometimes down right rude responses to Noobs who have not introduced themselves.
It's not needed as usually theses are people at the end of their tether looking for help, and a cr+ppy response from one of us will just upset them even more.
Could I ask that we just give them a gentle reminder to introduce themselves. We need new people to join us to keep this place the vibrant interesting place it is.
And if it really upsets you, then don't answer them until someone else has sorted it out.
Thankyou for reading this, I hope this will be an end to it.
Cheers
Mike

Agree , there are people on here that are legends in there own minds , but thats life :D

I have to say....my first post I was guilty of asking about air bags then realised and made a proper intro but I slipped under the radar and didn't get a bollocking...must have been a quiet day...but if I had, being in the depressive state of mind I was in at the time, you lot could well have sent me over the edge.....

Or was I already there...

You say it's bad form to rag noobs but does nobody think it rude to burst straight through the door without introducing yourself and demanding answers?

why should you feel guilty about asking a question ? those that complain the most about common questions arent those that can actually answer with any real knowledge

if this was an actual club and not a virtual one, what would happen if someone opened the door to the clubhouse walked in and demanded an answer to a question?

i don't ,or can't, see the distinction!

those that answer questions regardless of wether the forum rules have been observed are spoiling the forum IMHO

It is rude if you are the one inside the door, but what if you are the person loitering outside the door for ages, not daring to knock, then...stumble through the door tripping over the threshold cos you're a bit clumsy.

Of course, there are those who do stomp in demanding answers.
;)

No one is busting through a door, lz use the term SEARCH , most new members do just that , search and find lz. Any search engine will find lz as its the best lr forum! They ask what to them at the time is the most important question ever and lz belittle them if they don't introduce has first post, and if they are lucky they still get abuse from those who will/ do not give the answer!
I for one am getting bored, all good things come to an end.
I am finding it difficult at the moment to Justify adding another donation.

Yeah wot he says ^^^

Actually I seem to remember Freelaner and Ginge etc giving me a bloody good kicking when I suggested a sticky about regular questions - took it on the chin, gave a bit of gip back and moved on. Simples!

LZ rocks BECAUSE of it's infamous banter, not despite it ;)

i can and do answer questions  and when i do i don't complain.

there is a way of asking in all communities, some folk think we all sit at our computers waiting for them to give them advice though and, without so much as a bye or leave, disappear never to be seen again.

I agree lz rocks. This thread is asking not to be rude to new members?
Once they have joined then we can find out put if they are going to stay / fit in?
If they can't stand the lz heat then get out of the lz, but give them a chance?
Think about it who are the lzers? In your heads think of the 10 most prominent, are these the people you aspire to be like?
If so OK, if not try to be one of the ten who welcome new members?

sometimes lz seems more like hierarchy syndrome ,we are all just people wanting communication
