Yes this subject has been done to death I know but, giving the front end a bit of a clean I got round to the headlights. I found one was a bit loose so gave it a bit of a pull and honestly I could have pulled it off. I think the little bracket next to the grill must be broken, and at the other side it just locates into the push in peg jobby. Lifting the lid the two fixing screws both have seen better days so I will be replacing them and the side bracket.

I have searched the forums and all the areas that might point me to some method of stopping our light fingered friends from stealing them. I have discounted those made of plastic, likewise those that have three self tapping screws to fix them on, a phillips screwdriver in the thiefs pocket and away they go.

So is there any other method that is currently on the market that would deter/stop a prospective thief from having them away. I cannot find anything after trawling the net. As a pensioner the cost of replacements and repairing any damage is quite a worry.

Headlamp guards with proper fixings that can only be got at with the bonnet open?

I s'pose I was fortunate in that I found some on the bay while they were still being made.
They are the same as the jaw ones and made of a hard stainless steel about 3/16 thick. They don't bend very easily and are fixed under the bonnet.
I was able to give them a coat of touch-up paint before fitting to match the colour of the Disco.

Brian 47, thanks for the help. I get the top fixing under the bonnet, but how do they fix at the bottom?.

Regards.
