Question: Does the BeCM have a setting to enable and/or disable the central door locking?

Reason: Since I have had the car, the central locking has not worked. Vehicle will lock on the key and the alarm sets. Checking the microswitches at the connection to the outstation, they all work as they should. Fob when pressed will arm and disarm the alarm. I can only presume the central locking function has been disabled.

Next.....

Question: Can the Nanocom do two things? First, can it set the base idle on the GEMS V8 as mine seems a little low. And Secondly, in response the question above, if there is a setting in the BeCM to disable/enable the Central Locking, is the Nanocom able to switch this setting?
 
I've never seen a central locking setting, so I think not. There are a few choices for Lazy Locking. You could try a few of them just to see if it makes a difference.

With regard to the idle setting, go to GEMS-INPUTS-AIR AND IDLE, the instructions say this.....

"Long term adaptive idle: This is the value that the GEMS learns over a period of time to take into account manufacturers' tolerances on components which affect overall idle speed. It can be reset, forcing the GEMS to re-learn this value or it can be manually altered in the settings section.

Short term adaptive idle: This is the value that the GEMS uses to regulate the current idle speed to take into account current engine load, temperature, etc. It can be manually altered in the settings section.

Idle reference speed: This is the target idle speed in RPM that the GEMS uses as a reference when self adjusting the idle speed. This is not settable and is pre-set into the ECU.

Idle air control valve position: The Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) has a stepper motor mounted on it, which controls its position in steps thereby regulating the air flow at idle and thus the idle speed. The position of this stepper motor is adjustable and should be such that a warm engine at normal idle should cause the stepper motor to be at between 15 and 30 steps. The value can be between zero (closed) and 200 (open)."

I think if you adjust the idle air control valve you'll get what you want.

Let me know how you get on, mine drops a bit on LPG and I'd like to correct it but I don't dare!

Never seen an option to disable the central locking from the FOB.
Do the doors all lock from the key? If so the motors are OK. Can you lock and unlock all the doors from the Nanocom? If you can then BECM to doors is OK. Have you checked for receipt of a good FOB code in the BECM with the Nanocom?
From you description, it sounds like the RF receiver is fubarred.

Sounds a reasonable scenario. However if BECM is locked FOB code is not readable nor is EKA code. If it's unlocked they are listed along with, on the GEMS the present security code being used.

MrG, sounds like a plan, adjusting the stepper could be the answer...many thanks for quoting the manual.

Keith, none of the doors lock on the key bar the drivers door so manually unlocking the doors is the current course of action. Did try and get a voltage reading across pins 1 and 2 on C758R (CDL motor) when plugged into the outstation but couldn't seem to get any reading!

When actuating the Driver or Passanger front door sill lock, the CDL also doesnt respond which makes me think the CDL has been disabled somewhere/how.

Vehicle repsonds to Fob button presses of lock and unlock but only by setting the alarm, the door locks do not operate....so the RF unit is picking up the correct signal from the fob and the BeCM is responding by arming/disarming the Alarm...just not unlocking the vehicle.

Don't actually own a Nanocom as yet, depending on the responses to this thread will determine the expediancy of obtaining one!

Could be down to locks, out stations stuff like that. Time to check the connectors at base of A posts both sides for contamination broken wires stuff like that. Without Nanocom. Multimeter time.

You can see if a valid code has been received, you don't need to know what the code is.

Have a look at the RF receiver, if it's MK1 or 2, I would bet that the lock motors may have burnt.
 
I had my central locking turned off within the BECM.

When I had work done by the local stealer, they could not understand why the central locking would not work. I told them to contact 'my specialist' and he advised where it lay within the BECM. He was using a LR Faultmate.

You can certainly turn off lazy lock but i am not at all convinced central locking can be turned off.
 
Too true. :) Don't forget to spit the shot out!

One of the bar-stewards crapped on my bonnet last weekend. I don't know what it had been eating but it looked like a black & white pizza had dropped from a jumbo-jet.
