Just arming myself to finally go to the German dealer about the clattering noise in the new 110 at hot idle - I think it's the clutch or gearbox but I just wanted your opinions before I make an idiot of myself.

Often when disengaging/engaging the clutch, it "clanks" loudly (everyone outside can hear it) around 1st and 2nd gear changes. It's not so bad in 3rd etc.

I know older Deffys make clutch/gear noise (bless) but I assumed the Puma/MT-82 combination would be a little more refined?

Thanks in advance for forum opinions - I need the confidence!!!

Cheers,
Matt

yes as two haves of flywheel are seperated by damping cushion but they are made in a way that they will only move so far before hitting each other

dont meen to steal your thread, but is thare any way to repair a flywheel like this or is it only replace?

you cant repair them only replace with a new one or fit a solid replacement and conventional clutch (dont know if there available for puma yet)but dual mass flywheel is fitted as gives better damping of torque to gear box than conventional clutch so thats what i would fit
