Does anybody know why when I drive through puddles in my disco 2 the puddle ends up covering my windscreen, when the puddles are quite deep it throws up a hell of a lot of water. Its caught me out a few times now. Its running on standard 18" alloys with road tyres. Its really bugging the hell out of me why it does it, can anyone help ?

Cos it has a high ride height as the water gets displaced forward of the wheel, it rises up further before it gets to bodywork and as such comes over the bonnet....

a lower car the forward displaced water hits the spolier first before it can come over the bonnet as it is only a few inches off the ground at that point whereas a Landy is 14"+....

Ive had td5 disco's before and ive never noticed it as bad as this one ive got now, I dont have to be going very quick at all for it to happen. Maybe im just noticing it more now as it never stops raining !

My Defender is just the same. Major sheet of water right over the screen and roof. Probably a bit worse with the steering guard fitted.

But you is chucking a large brick at a puddle!

Like they said, slow down and give your chassis a clean:D

one of roads flooded in newport speed camera on lane into town so cars slow down anyway but i was approaching in the out of town lane saw flood slowed down but saw a likkle boy racer coming towards flood window down could not resist kick down black smoke and splash. It's amazing how simple things make me feel so happy.

Deep tread on a mud terrain tyres (insa turbo saharas) almost eliminated it on my old td5. but its not a good enough reason to change if you use it on the road alot.
