My mother in law used to live in Lydd!! I don't know what particular car but I can tell you that it's well over priced, you should be able to find one like it for aroud half that money.
Freeelander's do suffer massive winter price rises, always buy in summer ;)

Its got that fookin orrible body kit on it, dont buy it! :p

Have a look at all the usual things when buying any 2nd hand car, especially the oil/coolant etc for signs of head gasket failiure though that being said, post 2001/2002 rover redesigned the K series head gasket and practically eliminated the HGF problem. So a 2003 should be alright.

I love my lil 1.8 Serengeti hippo :D Ignore the nay sayers, its a lovely car.

Usually I'm not too keen on the body kit but it looks alright in black :)

Does the missing paint on the rocker cover mean anything? overheated sometime?

As said before its a lot of dosh.

I haven't been to see it as you all say probably in the region of twice the price
it should be, consequence of being in the S/E (why do they think we have more money??)
and the time of year I suppose.

Will pop down at some time over the holidays but if it still there in the New Year he may take an offer..

Should the engine colour not look like this??
Meaning its just a bad paint job flaking off??

or this??
Yes like this one but this is not a Freelander coz the engine is lower set in the bay.

See Freelaner's rocker cover on 'what have you done to your freelander' P242....if you go to see the black one, take off the oil filler cap and check the plastic cam cover tray for signs of heat distortion.. although you don't see much of it through the filler hole.

Am I right in thinking that you sometimes get a Mayonnaise on the underside of the oil cap??
where moisture has got in??

Thanks for all the advise so far guys much appreciated..
