Hi everyone,

I've recently had the water pump fail on my 2003 4.4. Luckily didn't overheat and managed to get it recovered. Anyway thermostat had to be replaced as well as an aluminium pipe that runs under the inlet manifold! £477 later the car is back on the road.

I've since noticed that the heaters will blow hot for the first half hour or so then go mildly warm! Any ideas? Could it be air in the stem perhaps? Coolant system seems to working fine no loss and temp gauge sits nicely in the middle?

The other issue I've noticed is that the steering lock doesn't engage when the key is removed and when the key goes in the ignition I have to turn something on before the key will turn in the barrel, like the headlights or interior light etc. Seems to be an electrical issue; I've previously had a rain leak into the glovebox which caused no end of problems with the ignition! Any ideas? New ignition switch perhaps? Car shows no faults when plugged in and garage said it was like that when they picked it up ( it had been sat for a week and battery went flat + heavy rain).

Cheers everyone
