Here i think
rite me indicators av packed up:( ,started the other day with a dodgy right hand side indicator, checked them all and found the wing repeater werent workin on the right hand side, changed for a new one,put it all back together it worked fine:) ,went out forra drive round played up again only when turnin right thou:rolleyes: ,got back home tried to get the fault to appear, worked fine:rolleyes: .now they have packed up all together:mad: .
hazard lights work fine so assume hazard light switch and relay is fine,no fuses blown, just no individual indicators left or right:( ,not even a flicker:mad:  .
so am i correct in assuming me indicator switch is buggered?

checked it it aint pretty, its bin butchered before by the looks of things seems to be there, just does,nt make sense was workin fine whilst on the drive then as soon as ya come onto the road they pack up all connections seem sound

make a lead up thats long enough , just a bit of 1.5mm with a crimp on aither end, and test each connection, ie one on the sw and one on the indicator to confirm if there is a break in the wirin some where

Sounds like a poor connection - check the wiring to the back of the hazard light switch - its all very odd, like if you unplug the hazard switch the indicatorsa work fine but continue to work with the ignition off, and things like that. Try the relay also, 'cos they are electronic and easily go wrong.

right ive had a modge ana poke around:D .
i,ve power up to the switch but none comin out on the indicators side, flash and horn work,if i put a meter across the relay with indicators on theres no voltage showing,if i turn on the hazards the power at the relay is there, tried runnin a wire to indicators they come on.me head aint workin right.an kids am drivin me saft while i,m tryin to think and study the wirin diagram.
its gorra be the switch? aint it?

what is it 300 or 200
i had problem with mine wiring on inner wing passenger side around cabin air box the wires were chaffing the box and shorting out started off with indicaters playin up then head lights then started blowing fues

episode two,
got the indicators workin great when tryin with the ignition turnt on on the drive way,left-right-hazards and dash warnin light all working fine, yippee :) .

but as soon as i have the engine running and indicate right it starts playin up,dash light indicator light goes dim and also illuminates the trailer warning lite(dim),and tonite because it was dark i noticed the ignition charge light flashing dull in unison with the other two warning lights:confused:

anyone got any ideas whats up with the ****ing thing now?:D

What did you have to do to make them work with the engine off??

Trying to think of a suggestion, i normally like this sort of issue! With the engine running, the only differences are:

The voltage is a small amount higher, and there are some more vibrations. I can't think of anything else changing.

So: If it is a slightly higher voltage, then i would suspect the relay. They are electronic, and they also control the trailer warning light, as they auto sense when a trailer is plugged in. If the right repeater had failed, this could potentially damage the electronics in the relay.

Are you sure that the buld in the repeater is the correct wattage? That would also confuse the relay.

The battery light however does seem odd.

Thinking about it... When the ignition is off, the battery light is illuminated, meaning there is +12V on that feed. When the engine is running, it does out, i.e. there is no +12v on it. This would allow a poor earth to then earth back through the light, making it glow dimly. You could try unplugging the little light unit in the dash to see if that stops it trying to earth back through it.

Lookig at the wiring diagram, check the wires in the dash for chafing on erach other, 'cos the no charge light and indicator lights are not linked together by much. Check those earths, and have you checked the one in the wing where the lights go in? And the one for the side repeater which is i think awkward to get to.

And yes i know I have just rambled to myself a lot, but hopefully it helps a bit!
Boydy

Boydy
turnt the ignition on:D :D :D

i,ve had a multi meter, power probe and drop tester on it.
all checks out allright, until the engines running,it just dunt want to know, like you say boydy theres got to be a short or earth back feeding across from somewhere, its just not on the indicator wiring side:confused:

When the engine is on, and you indicat right, what do they do wrong apart from light up odd warning lights? Do they flash slowly, toop fast, not at all?
they come on normal for a couple of times then flicker,go out then flicker and go out all together, but only on the right hand side, left side is fine until after you try the right hand side then it just goes dead
just had them all working earlier with the engine runnin on tickover for a good 5 mins with no issues, but when you increase the revs it starts flickering, then goes out:confused: . i,m stumpped by this one, looks like a dash out job:eek:

Try putting a temp earth from the chassis to one of your indicators on the dodgy side. It sounds like your indicator lights are using the dash as an earth.

rite, the bastids am workin tfft, but i now av an issue wen i turn on the hazzard light switch, the fekin ignition comes on anurl,am baffled
