HI all

Any advice would be appreciated, i've been browsing through my copy of LRO and seen the add for Kenlowe and tbh i've seen it several times and thought about doing the swap but after reading about them i see several people dont like the thermostat that comes with it. one infact said bin it!

Im wondering could i nip the the scrap yare find a decent electric fan grab it then haggle for a decent price, then once that is done buy a X-Fan kit for the thermostat.

this way i save a fair few quid and i get a decent thermostat too boot and rescue more parts from the scrap yard.

I know fitting wont be too much of a problem just unscrew the exsisting fan. then fit the new one.

What do you think?

I'll be doing this shortly using a Granada fan but worrying about the cost of the x-fan thermostat switch.
Is there a cheaper way of doing it, I've got a heavy duty relay so it's just the thermo switch to find.

yu wont do it much cheaper. I made mine and it was about £5 cheaper - not worth the hassle. read this.

Read that Ta, very entertaining it was too:D
Still confused as to how its goin to cost a lot when up to now it's at zero an I only need a temp sensor switch.

All i said was that I made an "X-fan" type sensor switch holder, to fit in the top hose, and it cost me almost the same as the X-fan device - If I remember correctly, about £28.

Drill and tap the blanked hole in you thermostat housing outlet and fit a switch with a temp range your happy with.
