Afternoon all!
I brought a 54 plate TD4 6 months ago. Although it seems to run fine the last receipt for a service was at about 60000 miles so I figured I'd get my hands dirty and service it myself (with a little help from my father in law who's a mechanic).
Replaced the oil filter, air filter, fuel filter (what a horrible job that is) and the turbo valve vent filter.
Changed engine oil, brake fluid, manual gearbox oil, IRD oil and coolant.
Was going to replace the aux drive belt but the existing one still looks immaculate so didn't bother.
Checked all under for signs of corrosion, cleaned out the rear drums and checked the pads on the front discs, which look like they still have loads of life left in them.
Just wanted to check that I haven't missed anything important/obvious as this is the first time i've 'serviced' a LR.
On a separate note, the front brakes are squeeking when the pedal is applied about half way. As the pads look good does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? Someone suggested it might just need some copper grease applying?
