Hello there!

I've been having some issues with my Land Rover discovery 4 (year 2011; 3.0 V6). Wanted to get some clarification as to how to proceed forward.
1) For the last 2 years, my driver's side door (and back passenger door) won't open with the key fob. They lock just fine and I can unlock them manually from inside of the car. I've already gotten completely used to it but it's still a huge annoyance day-to-day. The shops I've been to have said that there is nothing to be done. Have gotten basically 0 help as to what should be done. Probably the locks have to be completely reinstalled?
2) The other problem just occurred a few weeks ago. First, it was a yellow warning light "Suspension fault", but the car was working just as normal. It tries to regulate between different modes and heights, trying to raise the car etc. Today I finally got a red warning light and the car became incredibly bouncy (max speed of 50km/h). Any guesses as to what could be the issue? Probably going to a shop to have it looked over anyways, but would be appreciated if there was something I could do myself or any information as to what could be wrong.

hi

sounds about right with some garages not wishing to help

Assume urs is a LHD , if so have u checked under the carpet where the sill is , under the plastic cover ur see a big wiring loom, water does like to collect there , the central locking wires run through there, it’s 3 x green wires , however as ur other side works ok u may simply have some weak door locking motors,

personally would first replace the key fob battery , then get it onto diagnostics to see what comes up , it might flag one of ur door locks , plus as a red light is shown it should log an error code

due to the complexity of these vehicles that’s personally where I would start otherwise ur just be chasing ur tail in not getting anywhere

hope that helps

My guess would be the door lock actuators need changing, common fault, I have done two on mine in 7 years.

Get yourself a cheap code reader, like the Icarsoft 930, to diagnose the suspension fault, the very first time you use it to read codes it will have paid for itself.
