Can anyone out there please give me some advise please? after reading through various posts on here about drivers door not locking on fob, i decided to bite the bullet and buy a new actuator for the drivers door.
Ive now put the new lock in and it still wont work!!!! all the other 3 doors plus rear door will lock with fob!!! i have to lock the drivers door with the key.
If i get inside the car and lock all doors on the dash switch drivers door will lock but wont open on the switch.
i am at a total loss, please could someone advise me?

If you're satisfied that the door latch assembly is in a working condition, I.e. new and connected properly, the next place to look would be in the wiring.
The usual place where wiring to the equipment in the door fails is inside the tubular grommet between the door and the "A" pillar. there is a multi-way connector which can be found when you pull off the kick panel down by the driver's right foot.

Thanks for the reply Brian, will have a look tomorrow, just very dissapointed that ivejust spent £78 and still have the same problem.

if it works one way it's not a wiring issue to the latch cos the motor is connected with 2 wires and locks/unlocks by getting reversed polarity so if the wiring to it was interrupted it won't work at all.... put your ear on the door card and listen while you lock/unlock with fob, if you hear any activity the circuit is OK and maybe the latch is faulty by new, when activated with the dash switch the voltage which gets to the motor is a bit higher than when the fob is used so maybe that's why it works one way on the switch

Well thanks for the replys. I have now stripped out the wiring that goes from the door into the front pillar and into the blocks in the drivers side kick panel. I had a broken wire and also 3 others that were ready to snap. All been cut, re soldered and heat shrunk.
Works a treat now.
