Discovery ??????????? Which One?

I have a chance to buy a Land Rover Discovery (things that dreams are made of)

I think I want a diesel, auto, 7 seater and have around 10K.

Can anyone tell me, what the difference is between the 300 and TDis'.

Also it is going to tow a Radical SR3 and trailer (1 ton in total), guess thats ok?

Are there any models to look out for or miss, any known issues?

To answer some of your questions take a look at the alt.fan.landrover

Discoveries are rated at 3500Kg towing capacity, so your needs are well
in spec.

Consider also a V8 petrol. Many people are buying these as you can often
get a much better vehicle for your money than a more popular diesel, and
then having it converted to LPG. That way you have the running costs of
a diesel, but lots more oomph!
