Hello,

I have put an after market head unit in, but it still could do with a bit of improving. I still have the stock speakers in there, 1 in each front door, 1 on each rear pillar and 2 on the tailgate. They all work fine with no crackling at all and overall brilliant sound quality.

But unfortunately they really lack on Bass.
I read somewhere that the 2 speakers in the tailgate are some form of subwoofers, but they dont give out any bass at all.

So basically im posting on here to see if anyone has upgraded their sound systems on their disco.

Many Thanks

Rich

Have you tried turning up the base gain at the head unit

The rear door speaker is a sub but it's sounds more like low to mid range to me so if you want low base then you will have so fit an amp and something like a 10 or 12inch sub loudspeaker in a box standing on the floor as I have done. You can get both combined in a box now (active sub woofer).

I still retain the door sub and fitted a small swith to divert the signal to my sub amp thats under the front passenger seat.
When I need boot space I switch back to the door speaker and remove the sub in box, easy.

You can pick up all the inputs to the amp from the door speaker only the main 20amp supply has to come from the battery.
I've posted the connections info a few times, more info just ask :)
