Discovery starting problem

:) Problem Solved :)

Thanks to all who helped me. At last I think I've solved the non-starting problem. I have been able to track the fault to a joint/connector located to the left of the passenger footwell, behind a panel. Water, probably from the sunroof had been able to track down the cables and cause some of the terminals to corrode (verdigree - sorry about the spelling, if it's wrong).

I'd taken the discovery to have the alarm diagnostically checked by the local main stealers, with the results being inconclusive. So i took the car home and started from the alarm receiver in the headlining back. It took a while to hunt down the exact problem, but with the help of the RAVE wiring diagrams, a phone call to a friendly main stealer technician and lots of patience I traced the problem to a terminal in the connection box on the black and brown wire that connects the receiver to the BCU. Some WD 40, emery paper and terminal cleaner and all appears ok. The key fob works, the engine starts and no sodding alarm triggering.

So the next job now is to drop the headlining and fix the sodding sunroof leak! :D
