Smells really nice inside, drives nothing like a Discovery or a Freelander for that matter. goes well, handles well, no idea about off road, to me its not a landrover or ever will be its just another new car to come out thats been designed to compete with the BMWS etc.
I had one for 3 days, on a test drive with work, funnily 2 of the woman at work chose them and 4 of the fellas never..
Its difficult to slag the Landrover name as its something I've loved all my driving life,
But honestly for the money can't see me buying one. the new Volvo XC90 is a brilliant motor though. but thats another story

Drove one 3 days ago but only for about 10 miles. I actually quite like the styling but it drove like a CX-5, Sportage, loaf of bread etc so it was a bit disappointing. Evoque is actually much more fun but I would deny it in court.

Nothing wrong with fl2
That's good to hear I had the MK1 which was far from good on the engineering side but i did like driving it, i haven't driven the MK2 but it's nice to know they have sorted out the problems.
is there anything I need to look out for on the MK2
cheers Mark

Hadlex is the main problem with the gaylander. It's a much better motor than the fl. Surprised they have done away with it.

Haldex generation 4 is the latest incarnation, fitted to kuga, Volvo and freelancer 2, probably from 2010,someone will correct me, evoque and disco sport, I the whole much more reliable than early haldex, weak bearings, swarf in pump etc

thanks for that goonarmy is there any signs to look out for or is it a case of ok one minute then it craps out
Me old man's one ticked enough to hear insides the cabin. He got it bodged/ fixed prior to it proper flipping a wig.

I’ve been driving one of these for the last week as a loaner. An HSE, with a 2.0 litre Ingenium diesel, rated at 240 bhp. Apparently.

It’s not exciting to drive. It’s not particularly practical. It’s not that nice inside. It’s a car. It could be a Golf. Or maybe an Astra.

I’ve been heavily into cars since I could first walk and talk. I’ve enthused about all sorts of interesting cars. My folks could never really understand the attraction.

The DS has given me a glimpse into their lives...
