hi there urgent help wanted i have a 96 discovery 300tdi i have 2 button key fob n have just been told the spider unit needs resoldering . my mechanic has come and said that the wires that lead to the unit are gonna be resoldered in sequence but we will lose the alarm. Is it this box that goes into the spider unit that needs resolder or is the circuit board actually inside the spider that needs resolder n will we lose the alarm or can ne1 help me wiv info ,please be patient wiv me im only a girl lol

the trouble is it was having starting problems intermittently, especially wen really cold , the key fob works for the central locking, the alarm sets but it wont recognise the key is this the problem of the spider or something else thanx trace

You can buy a small harness from your Land Rover dealer - can't think of part no now but it only costs about €10 here in Ireland .
You remove the wires from the spider and plug them into the harness - no soldering or anything like that .

dingocroft alarm/immobiliser bypass lr part no amr 4956 cost £6.48 later landrovers run without the spider ,its like having a belt and bracers plus a bit of string,it will manage quite well without it.

Thanx everyone for the responses i had the spider soldered and touch wood all is working great and i still got my alarm and immobiliser keep up the good work on the site no doubt i will be along again soon hopefully not too soon lol xx trace xx:)
