For early D2 headlamps (before thebiglad says go to Paddocks) cheaper than D1 lamps I belive, although a patten part may be (so dosen't have Land Rover on the glass) Paddock Spares - Land Rover, Range Rover Parts & Accessories - Discovery, Defender and Freelander

Will have a spare pair when I getaround (read 'brave enuff' ) to tear the front offa my motor and fit the post-'04 lights and bumper that sit in my workshop in their place!!

Now for the lights .

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but some scroat has stolen the headlights off my early TD5....tried looking on ebay, but only seem to be Disco 1 headlights on there at the moment (rather not buy new ones)....anyone know if 300tdi headlights would fit straight in/not look weird, etc? I don't want to modify bodywork, etc - and not too worried about the darker surround - just want to get some lights on the car!

Same shape & fitting method D1 300 series and D2 and before the "face lift" style.

Thats the ones, just pull the pin thingy and half a turn. Paddocks are doing D2 pattern part lamps cheapish. you will need the ajusters as well as part of it has gone with the lamp I suspect, I can't say I have taken much notice of the lamp backs with only fitting bulbs

I think the actual adjusters are still on the car (can't check as I'm at work ATM)....do u know if the new headlights would come with the bits that attach already on them? By the way, I've seen island 4x4 are doing the lights for 39.99 each inc vat.

I can't help with that one Mark, some one will let us know. I think that as lamps are normally a replacement for a broken unit they expect the transfer of the plastic bits & bobs so no.

The early D2 headlights are better than the 300 TDi lights, so although they are a straight fit, it would be a "downgrade" in performance.

If they fit then YES

Right....a friend of mine has SORN'd his 300tdi and let me borrow his headlights. They fit fine, although seem to sit back a little more than the proper ones. At least it gets me back on the road (still minus 1 x indicator though).

Still can't believe some f*ck3r would actually steal headlights out of an 11 yr old car!

Waiting to hear back from a couple of leads about a used pair of lights + indicators, so hopefully will be sorted soon....although if anyone can help in that department, it'd be appreciated
