the 200tdi discovery clutch has stopped working

was driving along today and noticed that the clutch pedal was not coming up as fast as it should less than a mile away from home so thought id just plod home in 2nd and not use clutch unless i had to, made it home but had to pull it out of 2nd, so checked the clutch reservoir and it was empty, so topped up and try-ed to bleed clutch, just as i was getting presour back in the clutch i noticed it was ****ing out the bell housing drain hole and had lost presour


so I'm hoping its just the slave cylinder ??????

hi Stu, if you need a hand with any of it, im free tomorrow fom about 10 onwards
 
I hope it is just the slave.When this happened to me,the fork had been punched thru by the pivot ball in the bell housing-this allowed the slave push rod to come out of the cylinder and **** fluid everywhere(over travel)-good luck
 
Lol, Cheer the guy up why dont you!

ldv vans had that problem when I was a mechanic, we used to weld a plate to the back of the fork against where the pivot goes so there's a lot more to wear through.
