discovery chassis conversion

i dont no if this is the right place to post this but here goes
Today i have inherited a n reg landrover discovery,engine gearbox & rolling chassis V5 etc ,& was wondering
Has anybody has ever fitted any defender or even any series 2 or 3 bulkhead,tub & body panels around it etc

on a scale of 1 to 10 how difficult would the conversion be i am compotent with a spanner & a welder etc

If I were you, I'd be taking this chance to build a rot free D1, from the ground up, using good s/h parts etc. Why would you want to fit defender or series panels to it? For a start, the D1 has a 100" wheelbase, not a 90 or 110, so a certain amount of bodging/stretching/mackling would be required from the start. However, there's an adventure waiting to happen, so go to it.

often at one time ,chassis needed cutting though

yeh 4x4 is born done it with a v8 rr chassis but its quite simple when you see how he done it ,have a look on youtube for a 4x4 is born
