discovery central locking stopped working!!!

hi everyone i have a 300tdi M reg 5 door which has decided not to lock or unlock via remote anymore. If I press the remote the indicators flash & the alarm arms/disarms but none of the doors lock. if i open a door when the alarm is armed the lights flash but without the horn ???

Further to this I cannot lock the drivers door manually and have to lock it from the pass side by pushing the button down. I also have to lock the passenger door & tailgate with the key.

I have checked the fuse's and all seem fine.

Just wondered if this is a common fault?

Have a look at the drivers door locking servo inside the door or the C L electronic control unit which also controls the alarm this unit is located behind the drivers footwell kick panel upto March 94 or behind the glove box after March 94.

hi thanks for that will try that tomorrow was having a play with it today and noticed that when i arm the alarm all is quite but when i disarm it i can hear all the door lock solonoids making a noise as if they are trying to work but only when i disarm does this mean anything else

They are quite noisy, have the door panel off and operate the servo by hand at the same time as the remote button. U may be lucky that it's only an adjustment that's required the fixing screw holes allow some small adjustment. Spray lube the bits ans bobs anyway.
