I have a 2012 Discovery 4 HSE, the NSRindicator is not working and also the brake light same side. I have checked and there is no power getting to them at connector and also checked the trailer tow connection and the same for that side. Power and function all good to OSR.

Checked fuses but the fault doesn't point to a fuse issue as other side working.

I am scratching my head now as it's looking to me as a wiring issue, possibly a broken wire on the loom somewhere.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Are the plugs the same both sides? if so just plug the NS lamp into the OS loom and test again.

Reverse light and Tail light ok, tried plugging OS light into NS plug . Same fault, no indicator or brake.

The car got a new wing last year before I bought it. Is it possible there is a loom from the back of the car which goes in behind there into fuse box and there. It's the only thing I can think of.

If you go on the disco 3 forum, right at the top in their wiki section theres the wiring diagrams, if you cant find it contact Gstuart on LZ as Im sure hes got them and will send you them.

Ive found this for the D3, doubt D4 to much different, interesting thing is all three lights appear to be linked so if the top brake light and OS one are working it must narrow your search area down?

Hi

Have a look at the passenger side near the back wheel, there’s a large connector, one of the wires may have come loose

As you’ve swapped the lights round from one side to another and still the same indeed need to start going backwards to find why there’s no power at the connectors

U could use a 12 v battery and test each bulb to confirm the rear lights function 100%

Believe they have a capacitor inside the but alas need power to the lights first

Not sure if a faulty brake light switch will knock out indicators or brake ???

Finally have u got access to a code reader , as they can be invaluable with electrical faults

The D4 is a bit different, the problem is between the junction box and the cluster somewhere on those two earth paths V and Y for the rear RH indicators and brake bulbs

That is spot on for what I am looking for, What number is the connection above LH wheel with possible loose connection so I can test there.

I see it does go behind the NS wing, that wing was replaced a year ago. Got a feeling the fault is in there but want to keep working back before need to remove a wing

Hi

Many thks

A code reader i must admit is invaluable

Don’t know if the connector will look the same on urs , pics of the large connector in question , this sits near the rear pass wheel

There are also another 3 x connectors that sit behind the front wing, however I think on the D4 they moved the front ones but apologises not 100%

See if u can see any broken wires at the back wheel connector and plse let us know how I get on

Just spent another hour or so out on this, the connection at the back Passenger rear wheel is it behind splash guard as the picture is hard to work out.

Checked the back connector at rear wheel, this one has nothing to do with the rear cluster. Disconnected it and checked it.

Going to check front wing ones in the morning.
