HI ALL,:)

I'M HAVING INTERMEDIATE PROBLEMS WITH MY CENTRAL LOCKING!!!!

WHEN I LOCK THE DISCO, MOST THE TIME NO PROBS, BUT ON OCCASIONS THE BACK DOOR WON'T LOCK.

HOWEVER IF I UNLOCK AND THEN RELOCK IT WORKS....?????

SOME TIMES THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER DOOR DOENT LOCK, BUT AGAIN UNLOCK AND RELOCK ALL IS FINE.......  IF ANY ONE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM OR SOMEONE KNOWS ANYTHING ANY AND ALL INFO WOULD BE GREAT :D :D :D

The problem is in the lock actuator, thats the unit that pulls or pushed the rods that connect the lock.

You can ether replace the actuator or repair it as I have recently done on my rear door.

Inside the actuator is a small electric motor and I found that the grease on motors spindel had dried so it wasn't spinning. I opened up the actuators case and sprayed inside with WD40 and put some new grease on the drive cog and put in all back together.

It all works now 100% I have since read a tip that if you drill a very small hole in the case and inject a little WD40 that also should work.

I also found that all the doors now lock or unlock together as before the was a small delay on one, so may be a sticking actuator has an effect on the remainder. More info Land Rover Owner :: View topic - Repair a faulty C/L servo
