Discovery 300 tdi won't start

Had my discovery for a few months now. A few weeks ago it started being difficult to start, it would wind over for ages and finaly kick in. Last week it wouldnt start at all, just ticked when i turned the key.

Yesturday we took out the 'spider' and re soldered some bad connections and also sorted some loose wires on the starter motor, it ran fine all day and started great each time.

This morning it won't fire, it winds over. We have taken the fuel injectors off and wound it over and just a drop comes out of each.

Any suggestions,

Sounds like fuel starvation, have you checked the fuel pump and filters?

...and fuel sedimenter!

Apologies for my ignorance, but could you tell me how to locate the fuel pump and filter and how to 'check' it??

Would the spider stop fuel from getting the the engine if we didn't solder it properly? (however the car did work fine all day yestuday)
