Hi Folks

I have a 92 Disco. The transmission/transfer box (i am sure its that) warning light has come on in the last day. It first appeared after re-starting the vehicle after a re-fuel stop. The distance covered prior to stopping was only 5-6 miles. Fluid levels seem fine. My hope/suspicion is that it is a sensor/electrical fault. The red light comes on and stays on when the vehicle is started from cold (not started for some 18 hours). Final clue in the puzzle is i was unfortunate to be drving around wiltshire and have had to do some very small scale wading due to the latest bouts of rainfall.

Any help from this superb website is much appreciated, as an ambulance technician i am ok with human bodies... but not so with the mighty Disco.

Here's hoping someone confirms my amateur diagnosis.

Final bit.... is there anything else i should be checking/changing/sorting after my recent bit of wading... ( dont think it was ever deeper than 12-18 inches)

again many thanks ...... Landrover people.......... they're the best!

you may want to check for the presence of wading plugs and breathers. Not so essential for the odd puddle but if your gonna be driving through a lot of water, worth checking...
