hi all
Changed the heater motor in my discovery 200tdi
Now the heaters are only blowing warm not hot
All the pipes are getting hot
Could it be an air lock?
Could it be the thermostat?

Could be anything along those lines, but I'd also add that you could check for any seals in the air/heating system. When I did my 300 Disco's heater I misplaced a foam seal and couldn't believe the difference when it was done properly! Doesn't take much ...

Changed the thermostat still the same. Re bled the system still the same. Could the be the heater matrix being blocked up side the fins?

What was the coolant like when you drained it? Mine was rotten old dish water by the time she got to me, when I had to replace the blower motor I back flushed the heater matrix and couldn't believe the crap that came out, ran a weak descaling solution through it and left it over night, eve more crud fell out.

Agree with Paul about checking the foam seals, the one around the matrix will be very old now, I used foam draught excluder strips from LIDL and doubled them up to get a good seal.

Also check the flap settings too when you rebuilt it, just make sure full over to the right actually forces all air through the matrix, a flap that is half open still won't warm you up at all,

I pulled dash back out and realised I’ve broke the heater box putting the new motor in. Just bought a new box so going to put my new motor in it. What’s the best way of splitting the new box when it comes

Yes, heater box, sorry for the confusion but I have yanks that call heater boxes air boxes and have been discussing my camper conversion and mixed my terminology. (still seemed obvious to me that we were discussing the heater box considering you were asking about blower motors not air intake filters)

DID YOU OPEN IT TO SEE WHAT THE NEW MOTOR IS LIKE?
