:screaming_bug_eye_f can anyone HELP. my disco is running rough one minute, as if it is not firing on all cylinders, and turn it off and back on in a few minutes and it is running sweet as a nut.

few minutes or a few seconds??

TD5 only had glowplugs on 4 cylinders, it will run lumpy for the first few seconds in the cold weather...

it has happened twice now, i had been driving for 15 minutes and pulled up at lights and it was there it started running lumpy for about 2 miles. i left it for an hour, came back to it and it was fine. 2nd time it started lumpy drove a mile like it stopped and started it again in 5 minutes and it was ok. these two incidents happened on concesutive days. has not happened for 2 days.

Check your injector harness (plug under rocker cover at front of engine). Mine done the same thing ran for a few minutes fine then lumpy stop then start again and would run fine for another few minutes, changed the harness and it's been ok since.

more than likely the injector harness is full of oil. They're about £45 from a dealer.

You need to check and see if oil has made its way to the ECU

Take off the battery cover and remove the ECU, pull off the red plug from ther ECU and look for oil in the plug. If theres any there then clean it out with brake cleaner and replace the injector harness.
