So...... I have rust on the front of my roof. It is all behind the rubber at the top of the windscreen. Just wondering if this can be removed without making the windscreen leak. I want to remove it and sort the rust then paint the roof black.

Thanks

So doesn't really need to go back on really? Doubt if I take it off I'll get it back on (I'm a bit heavy handed) :)

That windscreen finisher is not reusable once bent as it has a soft metal insertion but it acts as a seal too so if you can't be so carefull to remove it without bending it better buy a new one or the whole thing will look like sh*t, not very expensive but not cheap either DCB101510

Mine wasn't quite as bad as that, I just treated the rust as best I could then sealed it with professional silicone sealant. But if you can get the trim strip off, then fine, but what are you going to do it you find rustholes have pierced the metal? Thinks, "Take out screen , weld and grind back  fill, paint,, put screen back in and hope it fits "

HMMMMMM!

Wouldn't see the point in not doing anything about it because it will only get worse. I'll take the trim off and see what it is like not too fussed about repairing it as it is my project one
