Discovery 2 TD5

Hello all

I have a disco 2 TD5 and I have a intermittent fault firstly when I accelerated I would get power loss and engine light come on, if I switched the key off and on while moving the fault would clear, I checked my ECU and the red plug was full of oil so I replaced the injection wire loom as the plug was also covered in oil since then the power loss has gone but sometime when I accelerate the engine light still comes on, if I turn the key off and on again while running and moving the light stays off for a while, I have serviced it except diesel filter as when it was serviced they didn’t have any in stock could it be a blocked filter causing this or something else electrical as I say it runs and drives fine just don’t want further issues later on

Hi, the short way to the answer is to read the stored fault code with a compatible scanner, the EML on a Td5 can be triggered only by two things: crank sensor or throttle sensor signals issues

Okay I’ll have to get it plugged in

I forgot to mention the light only comes on when the vehicle is at temperature, I don’t have any rough idle
