Hi everyone,

My discovery 2 automatic does not excelatorate correctly while driving, the revs go up but doesnt go any quicker. If it was a manual you would think the clutch is slipping.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Kev

Change the transmission fluid & filter & see if it improves... changing the fluid is a 2 step process as you have to drop the contents of the sump, refill, rev through gears, and refill - plenty of write ups out there.

If it doesn't improve you might have some burnt clutch packs.

Also check you IAP/MAP sensor is clean.
Both this and the gearbox can give similar symptoms, but at the mo, I'd agree that it is more likely to be the gearbox either short of ATF or having dirty ATF and a blocked filter.
If changing the filter, wear decent overalls as you'll be taking a very gentle shower in it!
