Hi all,

Hoping someone here can help. I've just got back from holiday, about 2 weeks, and so my Disco has just been sitting around. Started first time, but I've noticed that the heater just never seems to get hot? I can't see anything else wrong, and I have no idea why as it was all fine before I left. The only thing I've done was change the front bumper before leaving, but surely that won't have affected it?

Any ideas much appreciated!

Thanks,
Stephen

Bleed the system well before anything else... make sure the tank is full, unscrew partially the bleed screw with running engine, keep it rev'd above 1500rpm untill no bubbles are coming out then tighten the screw and see how it goes then

Sorry to sound stupid...how exactly do I do this? I'm fairly new to this so still learning! Is that the coolant tank you're talking about?

Check thermostat, might be stuck open
Where's the thermostat? Man I sounds dumb haha.

Do you get heat when driving, and then goes cool when stationary.
Nope, no heat whilst driving, even after driving for a while.

Thanks everyone!

Turns out I was completely out of coolant...looks like this weekend shall be spent trying to figure out where the leak is! Any tips?

I'm in Surrey, but managed to take it to a local garage over the weekend - looks like the water pump is where everythings leaking from. Does that make sense? Also, anyone know how much of a job that is to change, as the part seems pretty cheap which is nice!
