Hello,
Had the battery disconnected for some work in my landrover discovery 2. Have reconnected the battery but I only have what was the spare key (without a chip) I’m guessing it’s needed to start it because of a immobiliser. What can I do?
Thanks in advance

Can you explain a bit more what the issue is. Do you have a plip which did work and now doesnt open the door?
If so use EKA code to get in and check RF receiver in roof as they can go. Mine did when battery disconnected.

All I have is this key. And do not know or have the card for Eka code

Provided it has not been changed , you can get the EKA code from a LR dealer for free of charge. or pay to get it online from a number of places. If you google EKA then you will find the places that do it.
If it has been changed then you will be in a whole different world of hurt.

How did it work before if you did not have the key with the chip in it?

Cheers

If you only have that key, you would should get a new plip with key, get the blade cut then have someone programme the key in with a Nanocom or Hawkeye (need full code for Hawkeye).
Did that key start it before the battery disconnect? As Neilly asks above

Yes the Immobiliser kicked in and there’s no fob to unlock the bcm.

does this mean I need to get the eka code from dealer and then get a new fob?

Yes thats it. It can be coded by a Nanocom on the short code within the fob. But Hawkeye requires the long barcode which usually only comes with a new key. You could buy a used fob, code on Nanocom, then use your old key blade in that fob. Or buy a blank blade and get it cut.
Or just never lock it
