Hi , have not been active for a while working on my other project cars and my two Disco 2s have been behaving well. My friend recently decided to buy a Disco 2 and now the fun has started . Busy going through it to make sure all ok and realized the previous owner did not have anti freeze in cooling system
With the cooling system being pretty mucky have removed radiator , will be doing new water pump and some water pipes . Would also like to flush the heater core but would like to know which of the two pipes on the bulk head is the inlet and which the outlet.

Also noticed on the radiator ( right hand side bottom - orientation sitting in the car ) the two small pipes below where radiator hose mounts appear to be the in / outlet of the heater pipes. Am a bit puzzled as only the bottom of the two pipes have a hole which feeds water in/ out of the radiator . The one above is sealed off .... but has a pipe connected which seems to go to the bulk head?
Any help would be appreciated

There is a thread ref Radiator! But can't find it as yet, I'm sure someone will post link when this is seen!

As for flush! Not got round to mine yet! So will probably take advise from here when see yours replies!

Thanks will look for it . If you have not flushed your radiator yet , suggest you do as this is one of the most overlooked service items.

As a matter of interest these are the pipes against the bulk head that I am referring to , going to heater core , that I would like to know which one is the
inlet and which the outlet . As the radiator has already been removed I can not start the truck to work it out .

From looking at your picture and the below picture…
Left hose is inlet (#3).
Right hose is outlet (#2).
At least that’s the way it is on a Disco 2 V8.

Thanks for the info
For those who may be interested , we flushed the engine and heater core with a hose , easy and worthwhile exercise . A lot of Rubbish came out .
Can't work on it this weekend so next weekend water pump to be replaced , new thermostat and pipes, then run with distilled water only for a few miles, do last flush, and then coolant back in.....that is the plan
