Hi everyone,

Recently picked up a 2000 plate Disco 2.

When putting fuel in something is making the petrol station pump cut off, so the only way to fill up is by pouring very slowly.

Any ideas of what could be causing this?

First suspect is clogged up vent pipe, nr 3, use a torch, watch inside the neck and you'll see a hole about 30 mm below on the left side, blew with compressed air in it to rule this out

Don't put the nozzle in so far and try and make sure you have it angled so that the fuel goes straight down the filler tube and doesn't splash back causing the nozzle to cut off.

If you have a lot of problems then try and make sure that the fuel filler breather pipe is not blocked.

I will just add, this doesn't bode well for Land Rover ownership if you are having trouble filling it up with fuel

Have you tried several times on different petrol stations? I have also experienced such thing, but it was due to a probably bad or too sensitive filling device.

Hi @berg450 , yes have had it for 6 months. Only found one petrol station where I didn't have the issue which was one with older equipment
Maybe our old lady does not like to new equipment.
To be honest I also used to play with the feeding gun (nozzle) a bit. If I push it fully in it also stops (maybe turbulence?).
