Discovery 2 central locking

Just tried to get back into my D2 after locking the doors 10 minutes before hand. On the first press you can hear the lock clicking but the lock on the drivers door won't unlock, on the second press all of the other doors unlock. The drivers door will unlock with the key and they all lock with the key fob!

Any ideas as to what has broken this time?

The opening sequence is normal cos the central locking is setted od SPE(single point entry) ... the fix for you is to replace the door lock actuator(it has two motors within which u cant replace individualy and the one "in charge" to unlock doesnt work as it should...quite common. U might be able to resuscitate it with some WD40 and some lock/unlock with the key manoeuvres(with battery disconnected), but it wont last too long

Yep it all comes as one piece.You can pick them up on ebay for about £60.I don't know what they are like though.

You should get some of the plastic clips that hold the door card on as they break when you take it off

Might see how much a new one is, It's lasted 9 years from new, can't imagine an e-bay one lasting the same but I'll have a look around. Thanks

mine for a Disco 1 was £80 + vat

I'm sure we pay about £60 off Britpart for them. They're all made by the same manufacturer (Valeo iirc) so dont gimme that ****part malarkey
