Hi I've plumed in the centre diff lock mechanism that was partially fitted to my truck when I bought it, I've changed the wires around so the diff lock light comes on now instead of the temperature warning light but when I engage it the traction control doesn't turn off.

It's a 2003 td5 manual

Can anyone shed any light on what might be the cause of this could be?? Thanks

Hi, i dont really get what's the problem now explain again only the issue you have

So when you engage the centre diff lock isn't it supposed to de activate the traction control?

Because if that is the case mine doesn't. I put the diff lock on and the light comes up to say its engaged but no traction control lights come on.

No worries, as your's is facelift it has the upgraded SLABS ECU which can manage the TC to work together with the CDL, the TC is supposed to be disabled only on pre-facelits

here's the whole story from the wsm

I don't suppose you have any idea why my diagnostics won't communicate with the ecu? It connects to abs and all other modules just not the ecu
can be two things, interrupted circuit or ECM issue as long as you have comms with other ECUs, you'll hav eto make a continuity test between ECM black plug pin 32(pink wire) and obd socket pin 7(also pink)

Hi sorry its been so long only just got to check the wiring and I can confirm it's got continuity to both pins! So it's obviously something more serious??
