I am after completely flushing out my coolant as I dont think there is any antifreeze in the system. How do I do it and is there anything to look out for? I have had a search round but cant find anything definitive in regards to a how to guide?

Cheers

Take lid off expansion tank, remove plug from top of radiator and (if its not too dissimilar from a 90) remove the bottom hose from radiator and let coolant drain out. I don't think they included a drain plug on models that early

Need to do mine too.

What Type of Antifreeze should a 200tdi take?

And to bleed is it leave expansion tank cap off and let it boil over or are there bleed screws around the system?

Well, renewed the coolant or at least put some in. Put new seal on thermostat. Filled the rad up then the expansion tank. Started her up and antifreeze is pouring out of the thermostat seal??. I have totally tightened it up. Can I get away with using silicon to seal it or not?

I feel like im talking to myself but ill carry on. Just took it for a short drive - 5 or so miles. Got the engine upto temp

Thats where the needle sat and didnt rise. Have lovely and hot feet heating and demisters but the dash heaters still blow freezing? Top rad hose is now fairly warm. But when I remove the expansion tank cap there doesnt seem to be any pressure there?
