Evening chaps! I have recently bought a Series 2 TD5. Whoever had it before has (badly) converted the rear springs to coils; by badly, I mean very soft springs! I am thinking of replacing them back to the sls air springs, I had it on my RR L322 and they were fantastic, especially when towing the horse trailer. Now, where to start?! Can anyone point my in the direction of the compressor, to begin with? If I can locate that, I can begin to see if it powers etc.

Thanks all!

Tommo

The compressor is mounted under the body, below the front passenger's door.
If the compressor is present, you'll then be looking at a pair of bags, about 120 to 160 quid for the pair and if they are no longer present, a pair of ride height sensors, about 25 quid each.
Once you got everything back in place and all the pipes reconnected, they might still be present but tied up somewhere out of the way, you'll need to re-activate the SLS in the SLABS ECU using either a Nanocom, Hawkeye or Lynx.
Information on the windy-spring system can be found in RAVE:

brian47, you sir, are a gent and a scholar! Compressor was very easy to find in the RR, but the boot floor doesn't lift up on the D2, local indie has done plenty of eas type resets for me in the past so no problems there. I will be spending most of tomorrow under it, so I can have a good look! I have many gremlins I may require your assistance with!

Familiar story, I had a 54 plate RR........ loved it towed a twin axle caravan at he speed limit......... easily, effortlessly everywhere!
Divorce, sold RR and bought a an 03 plate disco that had been converted, towed awful......... everything checked.
Ended up re fitting air bags......... never looked back tows lovely........ inc the new wife's horse box.
My compressor was still there......... and worked
