Driving home this evening the red ACE light has come on accompanied with some bongs. He stopped, checked for leaks (there wasn't any), removed the fuse which left the orange light on, put the fuse back in and drove off. As soon as he got to 20mph the red light came back on. He stopped, removed the fuse, then carried on driving just fine the rest of the way home.
We don't have a Nanocom but I would appreciate some advice on possible issues and checks we can carry out.
Also is it safe to drive with the fuse removed until a fix can be carried out? (The handbook says otherwise)

I'm not sure there's much that can be checked without Nanocom or Hawkeye.

Removing relay 14 disables ACE and defaults to locked bars which is fine to drive until it's fixed.
+1 for that ^^^ with the addendum that nanocom is not reliable with the fault code.... foxwell might do the job better and as long as there are no leaks and good fluid activity in the tank you can drive it with R14 removed without fear
