Hi guys
New to land rover bar a defender series 2 I owned briefly a few years back

I’ve just bought a discovery td5, 2003 plate 150k miles on the clock, just for general pottering around lanes and fields

Been running fine for a couple of days then last night I got cocky and went through a large puddle too fast and the thing died on me.

I managed to get it home, by leaving it for 30-60 seconds then restarting. Happened about 12 times in 2 miles. The engine light comes on either when I go over 3k revs or when I slow for a junction/ corner and it dies out. Wait 30-60 seconds and it’s away again

left it last night hoping it was a temporary water related issue but it’s doing the same thing today. Can anyone advise how I can get this sorted? I am going to remove the air box and check for damp next but wondering if anyone had any other suggestions while I have the spanner’s out. The ecu seems to be dry, I did notice that there isn’t a cover on it tho

thanks in advance!

Probably best to take apart any electrical connections, blow out with compressed air to remove any water & see what happens.
